Anyone been to Carlos and Charley's Beach in Cozumel?

Has anyone been to this new Beach Club yet? If so, is it anything special or just another beach? I am debating between this one and Paradise Beach. We are going with our 2 sons ages 8 and 11. Thanks for any info.

I've been to Paradise Beach & it's quite nice. I don't know anything about the Carlos & Charlie's beach but I've been there to eat & it can be a bit wild. I had my daughter who at the time was 16 & I think she wasn't very impressed & it was too much for her.

Carlos and Charlies Beach Club is a great place. Food is good, beach massages for $1/minute, parasailing, etc..and not as "over-the-top" wild as the bar downtown. Short cab ride, or rent a car...you will enjoy the place.

Be careful at Senor Frogs or C&C - we were warned on our last visit there that they had been using grain alcohol for the punch type shots they do in the conga lines etc. Some girls on our ship were so drunk they missed the ship and had to have the pilot boat meet the ship while under way.

I personally love both beaches. I do think sons 2 and 8 will enjoy all the water toys at Paradise Beach: Trampoline, climbing blow-up, riding toys, float toys. Carlos and Charlies is just a short walk up (back toward the ship)the beach, so I'd recommend walking up for a look at Carlos and Charlie's while at Paradise Beach. Carlos and Charlie's is cute, but more for adult drinkers.

Oddly enough, I have a different perspective. Anyone who remembers the old Carlos and Charlies in Cozumel would probably consider the newer one more commercial and tame. Extremely loud, but tame.

I do think the old C&C had more character. It was probably more dangerous from a fire marshal perspective too. I still remember our first time there. A woman from our cruise crawled out of the place on her hands and knees laughing and babbling incoherently. Ahh the good ol' days. She probably still has a tinge of that hangover.

I just went to Carlos and Charlies last week and Sr Frogs. There must be 2 C&C's, because I didnt see any beach and it was immediately as we got off the ship. The one person I asked as we were leaving the ship pointed us to the one that was right there and didn't mention another. What a tourist trap....IMO!!!!! We tried to sit down to just drink (9 of us)..they wouldn't let us sit at a table at either place unless we ordered food also...SHEESH. We succumbed, ordered food and drink..they got us. My wife and her sister had a great time, and they were one of the ones that you all say come stumbling on the ship! In fact, her sister actually fell out of her room when they got back on the boat Lots of fun...not cheap...and was extremely rowdy! I thoroughly enjoyed watching my wife do the taquilla shots and stumble down the street!
