We will be on Victory in April, going to San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Maarten, NA; St. Thomas, we will have out 2 children age 9 and 17 with us, and any help on land tours would be appreciated.

San Juan:
I have been there 5 or 6 times as a port of call and as the starting point for cruises. If you get into port early enough I would highly recommend walking up to El Moro - the fort you will pass as you enter San Juan's harbor. It is a good 1/2 hour walk from the ship but it is a very interesting place and well worth the small effort to get to it. Both children should love it and parents too. There was a nice gift shop there the last time I visited (3 or 4 yrs ago) and no addmission charge.

20 cruise completed and ?? to go!

Any excursions you take in any port depend on several things: weather, amount of time in port, your interests, and your available cash (excursions aren't cheap).

In St. Maarten, I recommend a cab ride over to the French side to do some shopping and dining.

St Thomas and St Maarten are both ports you can easily do on your own. We have found both to be very cruiser friendly.

In St Thomas, lots of folks take the water ferry over to St John. Some snorkel at Coki Beach or have a relaxing day in the sun at Megan's Beach.

St Maarten is a port where we just walked about town for awhile and then did a beach day right there at the dock.

We have a special needs child, so we can't do a lot of adventurous stuff.

I would suggest you get on a forum that has lots of details about each port. Send me a PM and I will recommend a couple!
