I read on another site that you don't need to do an excursion to the beach in Mahahual(Costa Maya), that you could go by taxi to the town, walk along the beach and find chairs. Might have to pay for chairs, but not supposed to be expensive... I will have 2 teens ages 16 & 13. Is it safe for a 50+ grandma to do this or should I go for the ship excursion? Can someone also give me an idea for taxi rates? Thanks so much.
