I have been to St. Maartin before, but I wanted some feed back on the excursions that include marigot and beach or the other beaches such as orient beach. Wanted to go to a quaint village for shopping and beach excursion. What do you recommend and did you book off the boat. Sometimes you can pay a driver to tour you and drop off and get a driver to bring you back. If you have done that what was the cost.

We have done Orient on our own and through the ship. I think the cab fare was around $20/each way. We purchased a drink pass and rented an umbrella and lounge chairs, I think the umbrella and chairs were around $30 and the drink pass was around $10 which included 1 trip to the bathroom (they charge to use the bathrooms there).
