Not the best port. Not much to do. And when you dock, there really isn't much there. Take an excursion and learn about the area and the ruins.

We will be there in Sept. We plan on spending that day at the Tulum Ruins.

The Talum ruins are awesome. are you taking an excursion or going on your own. They are very impressive but if you are planning a whole day there you might want to rethink that. the heat coming off of the ruins are almost unbearable. And late summer it will be really really hot. I think you might enjoy a quick tour...and planning something else to do. Also if you are taking children to the beach around there, make sure they are not topless. We went to a beach ended up on a topless beach. I am not into the topless thing so that definately was not for me.

We will be taking the ship excursion. It is a 5 hour trip versus 7 hours if took it from our next stop, Cozumel. This is our first cruise and I don't think I want to venture out on our own this time. Thanks for the tips!
