I read somewhere that Playa Mia is really a party beach. Should I look for a different beach to take my kids to?

Edit: Moved to Caribbean Port Chat. RF

Playa Mia used to be called Playa Sol. We went to Playa Sol many times and it was quite pleasant with many things actually geared towards children, such as a daily pinata contest. Unless they have changed things I wouldn't hesitate going there again. They have a fresh water pool next to the beach, and the whole pool is only around 3 to 4 feet deep. Nice place.

is there a charge to use Playa Mia beach? Also, I heard Mr. Sancho's Beach and Paradise Beach were good. Any thoughts? Have 4 children ages 9,12,15,18. Aren't they all located fairly close to one another. Thanks, Gennine

Playa Mia has several pricing options - from a minimal entry fee to an all-inclusive package with drinks and food. Mr. Sancho's beach doesn't have a fee. Check out our overview of all the Cozumel beaches: Cozumel Beach Reviews

Playa Mia is very acceptable for children. The small zoo is fun, the pool is excellent and most of all the restroom facilities are very clean. We took our 5 & 7 yr. old grandkids there last year and will return this June.
