Hey gang , just booked the Western Caribbean on RCCL Explorer going to Belize City, Costa Maya , Cozumel and Grand Cayman. We are a party of six ( 55+ age ) and are looking for some suggestions for shore excursions at each port.
I'm sure Sonny , the cruise GURU will have some interesting comments .

Thanks in advance for the input

Hi Joey !
We to are cruising on Explorer sailing 4/8/07 so we will be interested in following input for Costa Maya and Belize. As for Cozumel, we did a party boat and beach day and had a blast - it was a younger set but we enjoed the day both on party boat and beach. After, we spent remainder of day in town shopping and ended up at Carlos and Charlies and partied with ships activities staff. We are late 50's early 60's but can keep up the pace. In Garnd Caymen (tendered there) the sun was hot hot hot.. We did the Stingray City charter and then shopped in town. I would not miss this opportunity to swim with the rays...not dangerous from my standpoint..Enjoy ! you will love cruising, its the best.

We did that itinery 2 years ago. We always go snorkeling and sting ray city in Grand Cayman, make sure you are going to the shallow water site on Cayman if you want to really see the rays. It the sea is not rough you will have no (age related) problems. Can be tiring to snorkel if the wave are high. We went snorkeling in Belize, they take you to tiny reefs and islands quite a ways from the port and it is fabulous, but time consuming with transferring there. Have heard really good things about cave tubing and haven't tried it yet. We did a beach break at Costa Maya. Wanted to do dune buggy down the beach (our friends loved it) but it was full. Laurie
