When I get to Montego Bay they have a resort called Sunset beach, supposedly about 5 minutes away from the dock. Has anyone been there? They say they have a clothing optional beach behind the resort. When I went to St. Martin that was the first time I had been to a beach where people had no problem not wearing any clothes. You know, guys, I am from the states so that is not an everyday occurence so you know the old saying, curiosity killed the cat. Whether I decide to peek or not I would still like to know if Sunset Beach is ok or not and I read that you get meals and drinks with your day pass. Does that include alcoholic drinks? Or if that one is not a good pick can you tell me where else is a great place to go?
It's Jamaica Mon! Do what feeeeeeeels right mon, go wit de flow mon. Unless of course, you had netter seen someting like dat......ohhh den....better tink twice mon!
I have never been there, so I have no firsthand experience. Just bring a camera and enlighten us all.
Whether you peek or not, Sunset is probably a viable avenue to take in Jamaica. Jamaica is a beautiful island, but poor. It is extremely advisable to stay with a group. An all inclusive would offer you more security than going on your own. I have enjoyed all of my times in Jamaica, just be street smart and stay with a group from the ship. Best wishes and let us know how you enjoyed it!
Sunset Beach does have a topless beach at the end. No free peeks......so they say! The cost now is $40.00 for adults and $20.00 for kids. This includes all meals, drinks, no tipping, beach and pool use, chairs, non motorized watercraft and their new waterpark. It is a great way to spend the day in Jamaica and I highly recommend it. Take a taxi, it is not even a mile from the dock. You will be able to see the ship from the beach. The cost is $2.00 pp each way. We did not encounter any pushy locals but people who went to Margaritaville said that they had to go through town and were bombarded by peddlers and saw all the poverty and that it was not worth it. We had a marvalous time at SB and would do it again in a minute. One little bit of advice though. The restaurants require shoes and shirts (proper dress) and we wore bathing suits and flip flops to SB so we were limited to eating at the snack bar which was still excellent but one of the restaurants looked really nice and I bet the food was great too! What a great day we had!
