Has anyone ever done a snorkel trip (off Boat) off Buck Island near St Thomas??Supposed to be a shipwreck there - reef too. We can't decide between that (a NCL Jewel shore excursion) or just going to Trunk Bay (St John) ourselves to snorkel. Advice???

We've done both. The last time was the catamaran to Buck Island and it was great. We enjoy being able to sail. The cat was owned and operated by a private couple, it was clean and they were really great people. Trunk Bay is a great snorkel, calm and clear water, they have lockers, showers, and a place to buy snacks and souvineers (not cheap). The ferry was $6.00/pp and I can't remember how much entrance to the beach and the cab fare was, but Trunk Bay is pretty. If you like sailing, Buck Island is beautiful as well. Have a great trip.
