What is there to do in Grand Caymen, wanting to go on our own, is it safe to ? Ive heard some about the sting rays. Is it really that neat. Is it really packed with people? Is there just a nice beach around to relax? Thanks

Hi Shawna. Welcome.
Grand Cayman is very safe. It's a beautiful, rich port. Stingray City is where you want to go. It's spectacular. I highly recommend it on a first visit to Grand Cayman. It wasn't so packed with people that we couldn't enjoy the stingrays. I wouldn't make that your deciding factor. You won't regret Stingray City.

Seven Mile Beach is nice to relax at.

Cayman is a great place. Stingray City is well worth it, I was just there last month. If you want to get an idea of what to expect I have some pictures on my website.

If you just want to hang out on the beach Seven Mile Beach is a good place to go.

Oh, if someone in Cayman tells you to go to Hell don't get mad, there is a town there called Hell. Kind of a fun place to go if it is part or a tour. There is not much to see but you can send some mail from the post office there to get the Hell post mark.

I have some pictures of that too.

Last year I booked the stingray tour thru grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com and they were alot cheaper than carnival. This year I booked the stingray tour thru Captain Marvins excursion. You will have to google it to get the address. My buddy grew up in grand cayman and highly recommended this one.

I've heard from many that Captain Marvins does the excursion best.

Do the the Stingrays, or 7 mile beach for some clear water. Grab a Beer and a basket of Conch Fritters at Abanks..That is a perfect day IMHO.

Shawna, I triple the "yea" for conch fritters while in Grand Cayman. Conch fritters are much, much better than the fried alligator I ate while in New Orleans.
