margaritaville in ocho rios

I would like some info about the ocho rios port and safe easy to get to beaches from the cruise port. I heard that a Margaritaville opened in ocho rios. Can you walk there from the cruise ship or is a taxi needed? Is it a restaurant bar beach with water park like the other one in Montego Bay?

Island Village is a secure area just a short walk from the cruise ship dock in Ocho. A nice way to visit Jamaica without really seeing it.

It is quite pleasant, with lots of shops, and of course, the Margaritaville bar and restaurant with adjacent beach. I've not been to the one in Montego Bay but I imagine they are similar.

Just returned from the W/C cruise and stopped in Ocho Rios. We were at Margaritaville and it is a short walk from the ship pier. You will not need a taxi. It has a nice sandy beach that is free when you are a customer. Yes it does have a slide and pool as well.
