Hi,my husband and I thinking about taking a short 4 night on Navigator in February. We have never been in Cozumel before. We just want to do a little shopping, go to a nice beach and relax. Can someone educate me? Thank you.

I love cozumel, it is a very safe port.
what we do is go to chanacanob park it is 10 to take a taxi to it and 10 back, and 19 to get in the park. we snorkel there too. absolutely beauiful beach. when we leave we have the taxi drop us off at the shopping area with easy walk back to ship.

I'll second macmom111's suggestion. Chankanaab has plenty of ammenities, very clean, great water, good service, bar/restaurant and close to the ship. If you google it, you can print out $4/off coupons.

Paradise Beach is also a nice beach. Extremely clean with friendly staff. It is not good for snorkeling though. Entrance is free, but they want you to spend $10 pp on food and drinks. They are not strict about this.

Oftentimes the best shopping deals are on the side streets versus the main street along the water. Viva Mexico is a good store along the main street.

I went to Paradise Beach on my last trip to Cozumel, about 3 weeks ago now. As stated, it is a nice beach. No entry fee, as the impression is you'll spend money while you're there. Lounge chair use is $2.00, and for $12.00, you can use their aqua park, snorkel equipment, and floating beach mats. US dollars are accepted there, as most everybody there is on one of the cruise ships in port.

That is new since my last visit. They didn't use to charge to use the chairs. I see they have changed their site to reflect this as well.

Thank you everyone! Chankanaab Park sounds so nice, but my husband and I don't snorkel, we just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach. So is $19 to get in the park worth it?

do a bit of research, Chanacanob is less crowded, there will very few children and teenagers at chanacanob, and chanacanob will be a bit more quiet, i think.
so it is up to you what your preference is. you will pay the same to get to both beaches so it will all come down to what you prefer.

You might want to take a look at Nachi Cocom Beach. here.

Cruise Fanatic has a great suggestion. Nachi has a swim up bar and only allows 100 guests. You do have to have reservations. We stopped there on the scooter because it was raining. They didn't make us leave, but they didn't want us there. We stayed over by the restrooms under the walk way until the rain ended, then left. But it was a really nice facility.

I, personally, enjoy Chankanaab and think the entrance fee is a little too high. However, the area itself is very nice. There is a little zoo and some nice gardens, there are shops with about the same prices as in town, and we've always had really great service there. If you print off the coupons, it will save you some. The cab fare will be a couple of dollars less than Paradise and probably 4 or 5 dollars less than Nachi.

We went all the way down to the Reggae Beach, then started up the other side before the rains came again. For a totally desolate beach, that would be the place. I don't think there were more than 8 people there. However, I'll bet the cab fare there would be $30-$40. There was a bar/restaurant, no chairs on the beach, and a couple of shops. Unfortunately, no live music, though.
