Cruising into 2009 and in 2009 ! Will be spending two nights in San Juan prior to cruise and wondering about this excursion. We have never kayaked but plenty of canoeing and wondering if we should attempt this adventure. Young 60's !

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you're used to canoeing, you'll love kayaking. You sit lower in a kayak, and your legs are stretched out in front of you. It's a very easy motion to use the paddle with a blade on each end. It's easy to learn. Hands should be placed on the paddle about shoulder width apart.

I'm not familiar with that particular excursion, but unless it says for advanced kayakers only, I say go for it! Sounds lovely.

My best guest that will depends on:

* month of the year you will be visiting

* activity level

I had visit la Parguera, they also have a Bio Illuminence atraction and never had problems with it but usually they use a boat and most of the trip you don't do anything beside enjoy it so check if there is another option to that trip besides the KayaK

one warning about kayaking - make sure you don't have a bad back....you don't need an especially strong back, but if you tend have problems you might have a hard time....it's basically like sitting on the floor, with your feet straight out in front of you....there is not much to support your back, so you need to be able to support yourself....they do sometimes give you this padded strap thing that does provide an amount of support, but its still not like sitting in a chair

i dont want to scare you off (kayaking is great!), just want to make sure there arent any surprises
