Hi Cruise-Chatters,
Just got home from my western Caribbean trip on the Splendour and wanted to share my experience on the Bucaneer Snorkeling/Stingray City 3-stop tour Although it was very cloudy and a bit chilly on our excursion, the trip was great. There were about 24 of us on the catamaran. The Bucaneer timed the stop at Stingray City to avoid the crowds of people from the cruise excursion groups and our snorkeling stops offered 2 very different snorkeling experiences. The crew of the Bucaneer was fantastic, but having sailed on both of Captain Bryan's catamarans - prefer the smaller Hannibal.
Timing of the trip was perfect. There was no trouble getting a tender and actually were in Grand Cayman by 9 AM. After the excursion you could choose to be dropped off at 7 mile beach or back a the pier (around 1:30).

Tom,
I assume you mean Seagrape Beach <VBG>. No, I didn't get there on this trip. Some of the ladies I escorted were a bit skittish about getting back into town, where the pier was, a place to eat, etc. So, I accompanied them back into town. Once I got them acclimated however, I headed for Hammerheads so that I could catch the last of the sun's rays while enjoying a great lunch and cocktails.
However, the other half of the group that did not do Stingray City went and had a super time. Pat was with them and in her usual fashion made friends with the locals and made sure she said "Hi" to everyone for me.
Nancy,
I have read many of your reviews and it seems like your friend Pat really knows how to have a good time. I aways love the opportunity to meet the locals in port - it is so much more fun than just doing the touristy" things.
