Car rental Barbados and St. Lucia

Has anyone rented a car in either of these two places? We are told they are both beautiful, and we are hesitating between car rentals and a bus tour. Any info would be appreciated. We are talking January 2008.

Bob and Bev... Really think hard about renting a vehicle in St. Lucia. Professional drivers are readily available and cheap. The roads are difficult to navigate and the resident drivers are somewhat daredevils. You can go from Castries all the way to the Pitons for less than what a rental car would be.

And they drive like Indy Car Drivers....and honk their horns alot....Hire a driver....with insurance.....Happy Cruising...
