Hotel in San Juan?

Can you suggest a 4-5* hotel to stay in for 1 night before we start my cruise? Would like to have it no more than ~$200US if possible.

I could make a number of good suggestions, but need to know do you prefer to stay near the airport, at the beach, or near the pier (in Old San Juan). It really depends on what you want to do during your pre-cruise stay.

SInce I'm not that familiar with the area just a nice hotel with a nice pool. Probably Old San Juan where we can walk around. Near some decent restaurants. Not interested in a beach.

In Old San Juan your best bet would be the Wyndham Old San Juan. It overlooks the pier and is in theheart of Old San Juan. It may be a little more than you want to spend - but they often have deals(prices usually run $180-240). My other suggestion would be the Park Plaza Normandie, it is a bit less expensive, but not located right in Old San Juan. It is on the edge of the Condado section, in close proximity to Old San Juan, but would require a taxi to town. The least expensive hotels are located at the airport.
