my suggestion is stay on ship, poverty all around and it is like a 3rd world country people were begging for money not change 2 dollars at a whack save you shopping for cozumel and spend the day on the ship sunbathing and relaxing, I am sure there are things to do there but I was not impressed and we are going back again on our next cruise and will stay on board when it comes to roatan and belize

I would recommend doing a ship's shore excursion here. Belize has some jungle-like areas that might be featured on an excursion, and also has excellent snorkeling and diving. However, these would be longer treks, not close to where you dock, and IMO it's not worth the chance going off on your own. It's an English-speaking country, and very beautiful, according to friends who have been there. Yes, there's poverty, but that's true in much of the world. Why miss out on the chance to see a part of the world you may never get to again?

We've been to "Altun Ha" to see the Maya-ruins. I think it is worth to see.

Piva,
The canopy tour and tubing are both excellent choices. Let us know what you decide.

We enjoyed a tour that was to the zoo and then a river ride. Saw some interesting animals.

beebop,
Try Reggie's Tours. I believe his minimum age is 10 and he is excellent. I have used his services more than once and never been disappointed. His website is:
