What should I bring?

I am heading down to the caribbean for a few months. What should I take with me?

A good sunscreen, and plenty of it, if you're planning on spending a few months.

cant i buy that there? I am talking in terms of type of clothes, shoes, things to pass the time and whathave you. Any suggestions besides the obvious sunscreen?

Whathave you is really important. Whathave him/her is equally important. I usually double up on the whathave you and whatnot. Actually, money, a couple of tropical shirts, lots of clean underwear, deoderant, a toothbrush, and some Jimmy Buffet music will always get me through!

Take a friend, spouse or relative and get a balcony cabin on one of the many ships that sail there. Clean underwear not withstanding.

I have been accused of being a master of the understatement, and stating the obvious. OK, how about the kitchen sink?

Thanks for the suggestions I guess. I was just curious if there was anything not obvious that I should take that is essential.

Well let me give you a few ideas:

1. Excedrin, Tylenol and sun block here, I am From Puerto Rico, can get very hot and one thing that you can use is the Excedrin don’t know why but with hot climate headache is like always there.
2. Sunglasses and short pants remember is hot here!!
3. Frommers Caribbean ports so you know what and when to do it.
4. Underwater camera.
5. Good attitude and patience sometimes.
