Hi,
I am going on a cruise out of Miami to Mexico and the Carribean. I will not need a passport if before 1/08, correct? My understanding is all I will need is birth certificate and photo ID. Any thoughts?

Just recently had a conversation with Carnival about this. The wording is a bit tricky when they say "no later than". But that is the current revision. What you need to keep in mind is, should you miss the ship, or get injured or sick and need to fly from a port you will need a Passport. Or could be delays. I am cruising before that time and I am getting mine and I reccomend you do too. But as a requirement to cruise is not needed at this time at least on CCL.

Am I wrong; I was under the impression that as of 1/23/07 passports were required to enter the United States, even when returning from Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
