Any tips for the Straw Market in Nassau? Any must haves? Any stay away froms? Any advice for people that don't know how to haggle well?

I never know how to haggle either.
I guess if you think the price is fair buy it if not walk away they will come down in price.
I was told years ago to offer half of what they are asking and go up from there make sure you have a top price in mind & if they go beyond that walk away.

I like to look for hand made items but theses days you have to really check that they were not really "made in china"

Noticed a cultural difference from shopping in Mexico to the Bahamas. People in the Bahamas seem really put out if they show you something and you walk away. I am hesitant to even pause by something to get a closer look to avoid what seems like wrath if I continue on. Then there is shopping in Jamaica or Haiti--the desperation is overwhelming at times. I am sure it is a Bahama thing that I take personally but it feels like reproach.
