We are a family of 4 (9 & 10 year old children) and we have never cruised before. We are cruising this weekend Feb-19 on the Mariner- Woo Hoo (so excited) The only thing that we REALLY want to do is go horseback riding. I know that St Maarten has 2 stables, but I am unsure of the best way to get there. Any advice? We are all fairly fair people so roasting at CoCo Cay does not sound like an island for us,but I read somewhere that there was a way to get to Atlantis from CoCo Cay . Is this accurate?
As far as St Thomas goes, I was going to cut the husband loose with the kids and let him find something for them to do while I shopped !!
Any advise for activities for them would be great! Thanks so much - I love this site!!!

Hi SPanker,
Coco Cay is RC's private island and about 50 miles from Nassau (where Atlantis is located). So, to the best of my knowledge, visiting Atlantis would not be possible. There are some nice shady areas with hammocks on the island and they have a nice luncheon buffet. you might want to venture off the ship and check it out.
Here are details about CocoCay from our sister site, Port Reviews.

Thank you for clearing up the Atlantis misconception. I believe that the kids want to skip Coco Cay and stay in the pool all day. We have made no plans and we will just figure it out as we go along.I am really looking forward to St Maarten and St Thomas. I am assuming that a taxi can take us to the stables. That excursion is not available through RCCL.

A taxi will take you just about anywhere - it doesn't hurt to check on the fare first and have your own idea of where you are going.

I am fair skinned and really enjoyed Coco Cay, but I did get burned (missed a spot with the sunblock). The island drink is fabulous (CocoLoco) and the beaches are lovely. However, by staying on board I'm sure you'll have a lot more ship to yourselves, there just won't be as much going on.
