cozumel ferry to playa del carmen

need info/ help. our cruise mates want to go to playa del carmen I heard there is a ferry.any body know $$ and times and distance? We've been to cozumel 4 plus times and want to try something new.

Unless they moved after the hurricane, the ferries leave from the dock near the center of town. There are two ferry companies and they depart about every 1/2 hour. It takes 30-45 minutes to cross. Sorry, I can not remember what it costs.

The ferry is $25.00USD or was last year.

30-45 min. to cross unless there are choppy seas (up to 60 min's in choppy seas). If it's too choppy they'll shut 'em down. If I were you I'd go to Xel Ha, a marine park, the best. I've been to Cozumel several times as well and I have found Xel Ha to be the best choice, it's really, really great. Other than that, I'd have to say Tulum Ruins is the next best, beautiful beach there, surreal.
