My husband and myself are not the atheletic types. We are fat and out of shape. But, we love snorkeling. My husband is an amputee so snorkeling from a beach is an impossibility. (Hard to hop on one foot in the sand plus what do you do with the prosthetic?) We normally do our snorkeling from a boat. We will be going to Princess' private island and we thought that if we rented paddle boats, then we may be able to tie them off somehow and snorkel from them. Does anyone think this would work? How hard is it to paddle? It would be embarrassing if we had to be rescued because we didn't have the energy to paddle back to shore. If anyone has any suggestions we'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure the paddle boats would work for that because there is only the rope line to tie to. Princess Cays has a walk way and there is a walk way near the snorkeling area, however, there are boulders underneath there. I'm wondering if you talked to one of the crew members if they could take him out on a jet ski and pick him back up. I don't think you would have trouble swimming back in, the snorkeling area is right at the shore. You can snorkel around the jetty which only goes out about 30 yds and snorkel on the rocky side. They also have snorkel vests you can rent if you don't have your own. I honestly think the crew can work something out for you. Princess Cays is a great private island.

Good idea Penny. Never thought of asking the crew for assistance. I always assume they are too busy. My husband would be thrilled to ride a jet ski. Thanks for taking the time to help.
