Cozumel Taxis

We are planning on a cruise in Dec. and wanting to do a shore excursion on our own to Chankanaab Park and wondering if there are taxis readily available to get back to the pier from the park? Also do most of the drivers speak English and is it a safe thing to do on our own and not through the cruise line?

It is pretty hard to not be near a taxi on Cozumel. They are everywhere, including some always in line at Chankanaab waiting for people who want to return to town or the ships. The drivers all speak enough English that you will not have a problem. The taxis are quite safe and you should not worry about them. We pretty much always just hop in a cab when at Cozumel and go off on our own.

As Dave said, and I agree taxis are everywhere. They know where you want to go from their language skills and will get you there fast
