Hi. This is my first trip to Nassau and I am only in port for 10 hours. I want to make the most of it divided between shopping, eating, and beaching. Any suggestions for don't miss places? Also any suggestions for a beach to go to for a couple of hours that will not take up a lot of travel time? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to CruiseReviews.

We have a review of Nassau that is a couple years old but still is relevant. It is located here.

Which cruise are you taking?

My suggestion is to grab a cab and go to Atlantis. After walking around there, go out the back, and there is a public beach adjacent to the property (Cabbage Beach). On the way back, you can stroll through the straw market or the shops at the terminal.

Be sure to try the chocolate melting cake on board your ship, at least once. It is so yummy!

The beach Penny mentioned is to the right of Atlantis. The taxi will drop you off at the entrance to Atlantis. If you go to the beach, there will be taxis there as well to take you back to the cruise ship terminal. The fare is $4 each way.

Thanks everyone for your help. It looks like it is Cabbage beach. I'm thinking the best place for shopping is in downtoen Nassau. Id that correct? I was hoping to eat at the Poop Deck, but I understand it is closed on Mondays. Any other suggestions from anyone?

Can't help with the restaurants. I usually go over to Blue Lagoon Island for beach, snorkeling, and the best Cheeseburger in Paradise - in the Caribbean. There is a Senor Frogs beside the cruise terminal, if you are into that kind of thing. Nothing wrong with going back to the ship to eat. They have great burgers and Rubens and other fare. I've done that a few times after going to Cabbage Beach. Grab a quick shower and lunch, then back out to do some shopping. There is a great perfume/cologne shop a few streets back from the terminal. Can't think of the name right off the bat. Their prices are way better than the ship's on board duty free shop.
