Mahogany Bay
The weather was too rough for us to get in to Mahogany Bay on our last cruise. We were looking forward to a relaxing day on Carnival's beach. We are going to try it again next February. I was just wondering if any of the members have spent a day there and what their impressions of the beach were.

It's great! We walked around the shopping area first, to me, it was too pricey. However, they have a Fat Tuesdays and a great place for gelato. We opted to walk over the bridge instead of wait in line for the sky lift. It's not that far. There are plenty of chairs, umbrellas, two restaurants/bars, a volleyball net, and a nice beach area. The snorkeling wasn't great, but it was ok. There's also a nice restroom area with showers. Carnival poured $70M into and they did a great job. The only thing they should have done is make the turning basin and dock area easier to get to for the ships. If the wind is blowing too hard, the ships can't get in.

Thanks Penny...That is what I was hoping to hear. I hope we get in to port this time!

You are so right on Penny about the access to the dock for the ships. We did not get in that day but did tender and heard that very (too) often the ships are unable to get access and sometimes skip the stop entirely. To bad to spend so much money and not have a great approach during windy times.

Heck, the morning we docked on the Valor, it took them 6 tries. I thought for sure they'd give up. I think the only reason they kept on trying is that another Carnival ship was docked and the captain didn't want to be one upped:)
