dolphin swim, eastern carribean

we have decided to swim with the dolphins when we take our cruise on 9/11. we are doing an eastern cruise, half moon cay, st thomas, turks and cincaos, san juan.
any suggestion on dolphin swims that are not a ship excursion? we may have to do the ship excursion but I am checking out our options.

my only concern with booking something that expensive in advance, is the weather. If the cruise line skips a port or hits them in a different order, will you get a refund from a private booking?

Your best bet would probably be St. Thomas on that itinerary. Grand Turk was hit by the hurricane, but not damaged too badly. I don't think San Juan offers a swim with the dolphins and Half Moon Cay is a private island also in the Bahamas and also hit by the hurricane. I agree with poormom, you never know what the weather is going to be like. It is a marvelous experience and make sure you book the swim not the encounter. I think I'd go with the ship excursions, if it were me.

Thanks Penny, I am afraid we are in for a rough ride on our cruise, but thats ok, I have the patch. I think the ocean may be to rough for any ocean excursions. But thanks anyway.

I sure hope you have great weather and calm seas!
