Default One Last ? Before I Go
According to the port calendar for Cozumel Mexico, there will be 8 ships in port, one of which is the Allure. We still haven't decided what, if anything, we'll do in this port, main reason being that there will be so many people in port, most anything we can think we would want to do will be overflowing with people - I'm guestimating around 20,000 cruisers plus whatever vacationers are in the hotels... Anyone have any thoughts on what might not have hundreds or thousands of people around? Should we just plan on a quiet ship board day?

I love cozumel, I would hate to see you miss out on it. go to chanacanob. it is a beautiful beach, it has a few mine ruins, a swimming area , a beautiful lagoon, a place to snorkel ( buy your snorkel gear on the ship for a few dollars) if you want to spend a few more dollars you can swim with the dolphins. It use to be super busy but hurricane Wilma (I think thats the one) tore it up pretty good. they rebuilt but the crowds have not returned. I absolutely love it.
also I feel like it is a safe island. Enjoy it,

You need to try one of the places that limits the number of guests. I can't recall the name, but there is one place that has a maximum of 100 people that is part of a hotel.

Also, look at the port times for those ships. Oftentimes they all aren't there for the same amount of time, or some arrive later than others.

Another choice? Try going to the eastern side of Cozumel which is not part of the beaten path for cruisers.

Chankanaab would be a good choice, but then again, there's a ton of people in Cozumel on that day. I would consider leaving the ship early if you decide to go anywhere on the Island.

Chankanaab will have lots of cruisers if that many ships are in port...since it is a great place to go and fairly close to the port. You might also consider going farther down the coast to a nice beach area. There are many to choose from with nice amenities. We love to go to Paradise Beach. You can do a search for Cozumel beaches and get a great comparison. Have a great cruise.

Nachi CoCom is the one that limits it to 100 people. Try the Money Bar. It used to be Dzul Ha and not many go there. It's really a nice place.
