snorkling?? in s. carribean
which is the best place to snorkle in. my husband and i are not avid snorklers, just a little, only did it in mexico. any recommendations for which island is the nicest. trying to figure out what type of escursion to do on which island. st thomas, st kitts, aruba and curacao. thanks
Hi Kaydekng, I have not done any snorkeling on St. Kitts when we were there. We did some in Aruba at Palm Island but it was just fair and we did not feel up to what it was talked up. We, as have many, did St Johns and found this to be some of the best and really enjoyed everything about it. Very calm waters and easy to do there. We went to a sunken ship in Curacao but we found the waters to be very strong and challenging, although there were plenty of beautiful fish to see. I think both Aruba and Curacao have moderate seas for snorkeling. Also, in St Thomas we did take a pirate ship and did two stops..We found the sail very enjoyable and the crew did a very nice job of guiding us to an island that had beautiful sea turtles and another spot with lots of fish. The waters were calmer there. I'm sure you will get lots more input on this question.
My two cents worth ...get on a cat that goes to Buck Island in St. Thomas
It's been a couple of years, but that was my most memorable experience so far.
Ebtrinity, thanks for jogging my lack of memory cells...When we were on the pirate ship, Buck was one of the stops that we made that day...I second that one.
