A friend of mine from nearby me is in Key West on vacation. He is facebooking about it..."57 degrees was the high today". We are supposed to be back to the mid-fifties here by the end of next week.

I just got back last night from southwestern Florida, and it was cool and rainy. The forecast was for a return to more average Florida weather next week.

Don't forget, too, that even a cold and rainy day on a cruise ship beats a cold, rainy day at home. Or most anywhere else, for that matter.

My sister lives near West Palm Beach. They had sweaters on, including on their little 6 pound dog.

Hey Corkgirl,

Me too I am heading for Fort Lauderdale for a Jan 31 cruise on the Independence of the Seas and I am certainly hoping it is warmer than it was during our Christmas cruise out of For Lauderdale on Dec 20. We spent four days in Orlando prior to the cruise and we darn near froze (that is an exaggeration - we are from Canada ) ha ha. But it was 65 degrees and even I did not like it. Florida is supposed to be warmer - for us travellers. Still 65 was better than the minus 20 celcius we left in Canada. During our week on the Eastern route, we found Bahamas to be windy mid seventies but as we moved to St. Thomas and St. Maarten weather was low 80s so that was decent. Now that we are approaching February, however, your weather will definitely be warmer. We are doing the Western route of Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya, (I have done this itinerary several times over the past few years in Jan and Feb and the weather is always hot 85.

Sandy, you are so right with being on a cruise and it does beat a day at home. I remember a few years ago on a Celebrity cruise with two relatives of us that were new to cruising. We followed a front for most of our trip and really didn't see great sunshine until our last island that was St.Thomas; no matter, we still had a blast and it was still warm..Cruise on!

Hey Corkgirl,

Once you get away from the Bahamas, weather always seems to improve. Just to close to Florida and when Florida sneezes, Bahamas catches a "cold". As I said before, we havce always experienced better weather the further we move away from Bahamas (not that 75 is cold in the Bahamas)
