Progreso Beach Question

We are book on Elation fir the week of Thanksgiving and my question is how far is it from the pier to the beach. We are beach people and have always done the All-incklusive thing in the past.

The pier at Progreso is too long to walk, but they will shuttle you to the beach. The beach at Progreso is the worst beach I have ever seen. We just returned from a cruise that stopped there, and I would not get off the boat if I were you. The beach is very dirty - you wouldn't want to go barefoot or swim.

The pier is a little over 5 miles from the ship to shore.
As far as the beach goes when my wife and I were there the beach was not dirty at all and clubs were very fun. Great drinks and generally cheap if you do that sort of thing. The bus lets you off at a flea market a couple blocks off the beach. Walk to the beach area and enjoy.
