We're doing Eastern Med cruise in February and would love to know if its possible to rent harleys either in st marten, st thomas or nassau? rather than the ships excursion where you would be tied to a group for the three hours. If anyone has any feed back I would really appreciate it thanks x

All I can suggest is to google it. I know you can book Harley tours at several ports, but those are controlled and you can't ride off on your own. I'm not sure about simply renting bikes for the day to tool around on.

I remember a post about someone doing it in Nassau. I don't remember how much it was, but I think they did it through the ship.

St. Martin Harley rentals

That brings back a memory. When the Harley craze of the mid 1990's was going strong in the U.S. you couldn't find new bikes in showrooms. They were ordered and often there was a 6 month wait, plus they were putting outrageous premium prices on them.

There was a Harley dealer at Havensight in Charlotte Amalie. I dropped by to get a couple of t-shirts and chatted with the owner. I asked if they had problems filling orders. "Oh no. Our distributor is on St. Martin and they have plenty of inventory. Order a bike today and it'll arrive by boat in two days or less." They were also selling them for MSRP. She told me she'd even ship it to Alabama if I was really interested.

Never have rented a Harley while on one of the islands. I have thought about it a couple of times, but since I usually have my family with me, its not practical.

If this is something you want to do, I say go for it. But be very careful as driving a bike there is more dangerous than doing so in the States...

Thanks everyone, its for my boyfriend, and Im willing to relax by the pool while he goes and spends the day on his favourite bike, nice to let the wind through your hair, even though his is short! lol!!

The wind in my hair I can stand... it's the bugs in my face that are annoying.
