Does anyone have any experience with the Buccaneer Stingray City Catamaran Excursion http://grandcaymancruiseexcursions.c..._Catamaran.htm

Or Captain Marvin's? We can't decide...

Or the Royal Caribbean's Personalized Stingray City Snorkeling Tour?

We're wondering about number of other passengers? Which stingray city (reef or sandbar)?

Also, what would be a safe time to schedule an outside company tour if we get in at 7:00 am, and have to tender to shore?

THANKS!

I have no knowledge about Bucaneer Catamaran but know people who rave about
Captain Marvin's.

I booked a 10:00am excursion with Captain Marvin's at a cost of $34. but had
to cancel upon learning the Grandeur would not be docking until 10:00am.
Also, the ship announced that individuals having RCI excursions would be
tendered first. We checked at the excursion desk and learned that everyone
else would start tendering about 11:00am. I sent an e-mail from the ship to
Captain Marvin's explaining we would be unable to make our excursion. He
responded that since we notified him in advance, our credit card would not
be charged. This was a class act by a company more concerned with
maintaining its excellent reputation than in making a dollar.

We eventually booked the personalized Stingray City tour thru the Grandeur
at a cost of $48. Even though it was more expensive than the other Stingray
tours they offer, it was worth the money. We were among a party of about 20
people taking the personalized tour. The boat was far from overcrowded and
we were well taken care of by the crew. Everyone was allowed to hold a
stingray and have their pictures taken. Everyone was given a stingray
massage and allowed free time to feed them.

The crew took videos of the entire excursion which were available for
purchase. (CD $45, DVD $60) The quality of the 20 minute video was .
excellent. I also recommend taking a disposable waterproof camera, y

Cap'n: On the Royal Caribbean personalized tour, did you stop for snorkeling anywhere else like the Captain Marivn tours say they do? Or was it just stingrays and that's the only stop?

Thanks!

The personalized stingray tour did not include any snorkeling stops. However, the other excursions offered by RCI had snorkeling. There was plenty of time to snorkel among the stingrays and other fish but the water was only 3 - 4 feet deep.

I have not heard of those two, but I did take the Kelley Tours Stingray City excursion in Grand Cayman and to this day it is the best water excursion I've been on.

Great tour guides and so inexpensive. I remember paying $25, that was in 1998.

Do you know if Kelley Tours has a website or how to find more information about them? Interested in going for a real personal experience with island locals not major players.
