We were in Cozumel in February. We took the Isla Pasion trip that we enjoyed very much. We left from a dock near the ship. My question: Is there more to the town than where we docked? I've read some wonderful reviews about Cozumel, but there must be more than what I saw. I plan to go back on my next cruise.

We were there in April...the weather wasn't the best so we hired a car for the day and saw a good part of the island...in fact we ended up doing a potted version of some of the excursions available (at a fraction of the cost!!) Sometimes I think hiring a car is the best way of seeing places if you don't like being herded about on a tour bus. We would like to go back there again and would also hire a car next time. By the way if you forget your licence it doesn't seem to matter too much!!! The cars are fine though

Hi papa55, there are 2 pier areas in Cozumel and there is a downtown area. What were you looking to do?

We like to go to the beach, and we also just like to see the sights in whatever port we're in.
I didn't know there was more than one pier. I remember there was a Fat Tuesdays and Three Amigos at the end of the dock.

That's why I asked. I was hoping some people who knew better than I would enlighten me. I suppose I could find some info by searching myself.

I've only been to Cozumel once, but will be going back in October. Depending on which cruise line you take, that depends on where you dock. I was on RCI, so I docked at the International Cruise Pier. On my recent and only trip to Cozumel, I went to Mr. Sancho's Beach Club. Lots of activities to do, as well as just relaxing on the beach, and there is a restaurant on the premises.

I've heard good things about Paradise Beach on Cozumel, so I may try that my next trip. Bear in mind that you are supposed to use biodegradable sunscreen, which you can get online.
