hey im harry from belgium.in 14 days im on the serenade of the sea cruising the panama canal.al the excursions start at gatun locks and ens at yhe miraflores locks.so you mis the cruising inbetween the two locks.my question is.do i stay on board or do i take a excursion.

Looks like you do not have a choice
You will be on the ship through the locks.

lourawls, it just depends on if you see an excursion that looks really interesting to you. I happen to think the best way to see the Canal is right from the comfort of your ship; but there are some interesting excursions also.

We did the canal last year. Don't bother doing an excursion, the view from the ship is great.

I'm with f-mattox and jerseygirl, the best way to experience the Canal is to stay on the ship. It is such an interesting trip that I wouldn't want to miss a minute of it by being on an excursion.
