I took this cruise in 2000 and I think that you may enjoy taking the shore excursion that takes you to Xcaret (Eco-Archeological Park) if it is still offered. Not only is there beaches but also some sights, (bird avery,monkey island,aquarium,mayan ruins,hammocks,gardens,buterflies,underground rivers) to see as well as shows in the evening. It is the most complete way to spend your limited time there and there was a shuttle run every 20 min. or so. The cost was $45 pp there are facilities there for changing. You are issued a braclet if you want to return to the ship and come back to the park later for the shows. Have fun
