Cruising to Puerto Rico in Royal. We are going to be there from 8am to 2pm. Besides walking around outside the ship, is there anything else worth getting off the ship to see?

sue7045 - The tour of Old and New San Juan is always a great way to get some idea of the features that the city has to offer with an interesting bit of history thrown in and you can either head back to the ship after or shop till you drop - the ship is only a few short blocks away!

If you're nature fans -then a tour of El Junque Rain Forest will orient you to some of the real beauty of Puerto Rico. There is much to see and do in on the island and the ship tours are a great way to start off - if this is your first visit!

Hi sue7045, there's also the tour of the Bacardi Factor, free samples at the end of the tour http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif

El Morro fort is a very nice way to spend the day.....Lots of history and it's only a $5 cab ride and around $5-8 dollars to get into the fort.....Depending on where the ship docks, it's an easy uphill walk if you need the exercise....The rain forest if a good trip too....Happy Cruising...

Another thing in Puerto Rico....

Have your camera ready when you come along the coast line...Great Photo Op of the Fort...one of the best sights from the ocean you will find...

We were in Puerto Rico in September and had one of our best port days ever! We got a "whole island" experience, visiting the rain forest, the old san juan, the beaches area where we sampled some amazing beach hut cuisine and sipped from freshly cut coconuts. It was a fantastic day and we had our guide, Albert Aguirre to thank. We met him by chance in the cruise port and we feel so blessed that we did he's amazing! Totally bilingual and a fountain of knowledge about the island. You can pre-arrange trips with him at surfcabs@yahoo.com.
Hope you have a great cruise!
