I hope she comes thru this ok. Cozumel has always been a scary place to drive or take a taxi. I have always said that traffic laws in Cozumel are only a suggestion. The most terrifying taxi ride I have ever taken was in Cozumel. I remember thinking I dont want to die in Cozumel.
I am so sorry for all that are involved in the wreck.
It's heart breaking to hear that two young people in the other car were killed. So many people are affected by this tragic accident. They all need our prayers.
Not ship sponsored, ejected from the vehicle, and two deaths. That is a terrible tragedy and my prayers are with all involved. I, too, hope she had insurance. Med-evac is so very expensive. I really pray for the person who was sent to Jackson Memorial. That is the last hospital in this country that I would want to go to. I hope that our members will read this. I don't want to discourage people from having fun on their cruises, but you just take more chances in foreign countries. You don't know the rules of the road, you don't know the streets, and you don't know how they service their vehicles.
What an horrible story. I was actually following this on TA and someone reporting to be the driver of the 5 person Jeep has commented there, and it is heart wrenching. Along with several folks who were reported witnesses. One of my favorite days was driving in Cozumel, but this brings home all of the can't be too careful, and still accidents do happen. Prayers for everyone involved.
