Not surprised after the recent criminal activities.

Maurine - Thank You for posting the news article, I'm taking my 93 yr old Mom into Nassau aboard the NCL Sky in Feb., Years ago, when I lived in the Bahamas, such problems were unheard of...particularly in tourist locations...sadly, things have changed. The World economies being what they are...we probably can expect to see more and more of this!

We shall have to be doubly careful!!!

It's a shame. Hopefully the cruise line and police will have added security measures.

A real shame that a few people who feel that they are entitled to horrify and fleece tourists could potentially stall the economy of an entire island of working people dependent on tourist dollars and good will. (not to mention if the ships would start going to an alternate port altogether . . . well it doesn't take much imagination to know what would happen then!)

They never stopped going to Nassau. They just had suspended some tours. As noted by Cruise Fanatic in This Thread the Oasis is warning guests to be careful.
