Barbados transfers

Any one know how much a taxi is from Babrados airport to the cruise terminal. We will be sailing from Barbados in February and like to take taxi's (faster and less hectic) rather than the cruise ships transfers. Thanks!

Taxis in Barbados differ from those you are used to. They want to wait until they have a full load before they go anywhere. They also are not inexpensive. How many people will be in your party? If there are enough people, you may be lucky enough to get going quickly. From what I can find it's between $40 and $80 USD.

Thanks, we have a party of six, possibly eight. Are the taxis large enough for eight? If it so, even $80.00 one way wouldn't be too expensive for our group.

Yes, most of them can accomodate 8 passengers. The prices I found were for 1-4 people, so they may charge double. Last year we went from the pier to Folkstone Underwater Park. They charged is $80/each way. It might have been 10 miles from the port. We had to wait for 30 minutes to get another couple to join us so he would go. However, he said he'd be back at 2 pm to pick us up and he was. I know it's their source of income, but there are islands that they don't gouge as much for taxis. St. Lucia is expensive, too.
