Dominica-Walking Distance

Does anyone know anything of interest in walking distance from the port? I know of the stores immediately off the boat but didn't know if there was anything else to safely explore (1 mile radius)

No, nothing close by. If you like snorkeling, I highly recommend going to Champagne Reef. I prefer going by boat, but they have built a cat walk so it's easier to get into the water. It's a fantastic snorkel. It's about a 10-15 minute cab ride.
