I'm sailing the Glory this spring and I happen to make a stop at Cozumel. I would rather spend the day lazily 'hanging out' in Cozumel rather than taking an excursion. What are the best bars (preferably with hammocks to 'chill' at in Cozumel that are within walking distance of the ship?

There are three piers in Cozumel, so it depends. Nothing is in walking distance of any of them, unless you want to go to the little beach they have created at the Senor Frogs they built by the International Pier. Not a good choice.

Instead, just take a taxi to Paradise Beach, or Mr. Sanchos, or Playa Mia. We went to a great little place north of town on our staff cruise last year, but I think it has closed as it transitioned to a condo resort. Anyway, you won't find a nice beach without having to drive to it. This is a good link to compare things.

I like playa mia, and mr Sanchos...Is there a similar beach club with better beach chairs??we are traveling with the parents this time and those plastic moulded chairs are not going to work for them.

Paradise Beach has great chairs...adjustable lounge chairs with big umbrellas. The beach use is free, as long as you order at least $10/pp in food/drinks. We have been twice and found it extremely clean and family friendly. Great food and drinks! We will definately go back!

I can vouch for Paradise Beach too. Very clean and a family friendly staff. I left my camera in the taxi on my last visit, and the staff talked with the taxi company until they tracked it down for me. I didn't expect them to go out of their way like that. Their food is great too!

Another great place is Carlos and Charlies Beach Club..take a cab a few miles south of the piers..very relaxed atmosphere, not over the top like the main bar. Great beach area and shaded patio as well as massage and watertoys. Food is great as well. And the best part...clean rest rooms!

I will be cruising to Cozumel in April and plan to do the Dolphins Push, Pull excursion. Any comment about this excursion. How many participants are allowed?
