Dave, No deep-fried gator? I'll take a double on the conch fritters though in lieu of the missing alligator. (not so greasy!)

That is one place that if the ship sailed without me, I might not get too upset! It has the laid back feel of a typical Caribbean island but almost a hint of New England. At least that was my impression.

I miss those conch fritters.....used to have them for lunch and dinner when I would go to the Bahamas.

Rissa-Take the Conch Train tour to get yourself oriented to the area-then wander Duval St. stopping at Sloppy Joes,Capt. Tony's and finally Margaritaville-I think you'll get a great feel for the Conch Republic!!
