at cozumel you can go to chanacanob park. it is beautiful there. There is just about anything you want to do there, snorkel, swim with dolphins, lay on the beautiful beach. It is like 10 bucks for the taxi ride to get there. The other ports that the legend goes to I have no clue but maybe someone can help us out with Belize, roatan, and grand caymans.
We have several sections on the forum and we try to keep things in the best section - keeping order so to speak. Hence macmom111's posting a response about Cozumel here.
Chankanaab is a nice place. We used to go there on every visit but have since moved off to other beaches. Chankanaab was wiped out by Hurricane Wilma two years ago and was essentially rebuilt from scratch. It is a short cab ride from the piers.
There is a playamaya beach break excursion. I might have misspelled the the name. But you get a taxi on your own and they take you to this private beach area. On one side you walk through a littel outdoor market and the other side is a zoo. in the middle is a large pavillion(open aired restaurant) and the beach area is in front of the restaurant. Their is a swimming pool there with a swim up bar. They have activites going on for kids. With your ticket you get admission, unlimited drinks (alchoholic or regular), beach chairs, floats, water trampoline, canoes, etc. For an additional charge there is jet skiing or banana boat rides. the food is reasonable it is a buffet, but they also have a snack shop with, nachos, and sandwiches. I think you can also buy the ticket to include lunch. It is a wonderful place for families. Cost around 28-35 dollars.
The price for... what?? If it's for the playamay.. they said 28 to 35,00 $... but I don't know for the taxi cost to go there? Does anyone knows... it's around $$$??? Is it far from where the cruise boat is??
For me, this idea is perfect for Cozume, thank's to cruzincrazy... beach, pool, resto.. drinks... perfect... thank you!!
We didn't do this one through the cruise line--I don't know that you save $$ on your own, but you come and go on your own schedule which has advantages. I will remind you what I remind anyone who goes "on their own" in Cozumel: They are on central time. Set your watch to Ship's time and stick with it. Clocks on shore may not match. Surf was really high the day we were at Playa Mia (I think that is the right name but have been wrong before) and all the "boat dependent" excursions were cancelled. We had a great time playing in the waves and hanging out at the beach.
