St. Johns - What's the best way to get around?

Thinking about renting a moped on thr island, has anybody done this? Is it safe? How much does it cost?

St. Johns USVI is largely rural and a drop out beach kind of day. A large part of It is a national park and has some great water sports activities! I don't know if mopeds are available but there a some very steep hills which would degrade moped performance. The town at the landing is small and shopping is limited. On the other hand there are some expensive and luxurious resorts on the island which might be worth a peek at!

Every time I have been on St. John and went to Trunk Bay I have rode in the back of a pick-up truck on a bench. They call it an open air taxi.

I doubt a moped would do very well on those hills either. Not to mention the safety factor concerning this.
