COZUMEL TO PLAYA FERRY

Please tell me your experiences in riding the ferry from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen. Is it a generally calm ride if the weather is cooperating? Is there much to see along the ferry ride? Thanks for any info.

Assuming the weather is nice, it is a big enough vessel that you should not have a problem. There is not much to see unless you like water. You can see the cruise ships behind you and Playa Del Carmen in front of you. They have air conditioned inside rooms with tables (we played cards) to passt the time. It takes about 30 mins our so to cross.
Or you can sit outside and enjoy the breeze and the sun. (they also have a snack bar)

We took the High speed ferry last march. Everyone is seated in rows inside the boat. Even though the seas were relatively calm, because of the speed of the boat, it was rough and my stomach wasn't too happy on the way over. I did take dramamine before I returned and it made it much more plesant. Everyone was inside on this ship with no outside deck to sit at. This wasn't the highlight of my trip, but it did get me to Playa so we could see Tulum and Xel-ha (Great Tours!).
