San Juan Bacardi Factory tour length

I have downloaded instructions how to get to the Bacardi Factory from the port, but I need to know how long it takes to get to the factory, do the tour, and get back to the port. We are thinking about doing our own walking tour of Old San Juan afterwards, but aren't sure if we'll have enough time. We arrive in port at 12:00 and have another private tour to join at 6:00. Should we skip the Bacardi factory and just enjoy touring Old San Juan on our own?

My husband and I did the Bacardi Rum factory tour on our own last year. We boarded the water ferry for $.50/pp to cross the waterway, once there we asked directions to the taxi stand, and it cost us $2.00/pp to take a van to the factory. If I remember correctly all said and done the entire tour (starting at leaving from the port until we returned) was less than 4 hours. On our return it cost the same, $2.00/pp in the taxi back to the water ferry and $.50/pp to cross back to the ship. The entire tour cost us $5.00/pp and of course the tour at the factory is free. You will also get 2 drinks per person before the tour. You should be able to make it and get back to join your other tour in plenty of time.

I have read about a free shuttle to the Bacardi Factory, but everyone seems to be taking a taxi. Is the shuttle no longer operating or only runs occasionally? Anybody Know? Thanks!!!
