Bahamas questions

I am currently booked to go to the bahamas with some friends... What type of excersion should we do. I am a heavy person, and I like activites but with my diabetes I get over heated. What should I do. .... Also, is it really hot there. Like what type of clothes should I pack for a 4 day cruise to the bahamas. Will it be safe to bring capris or just shorts?

harvey-Bahamas temperatures in July are hot and humid much like Florida. Pack shorts for daytime and wear light,free flowing shirts (Hawaiian Style)-do not bother to tuck them in! It is an island style anyway-tops should be light colored and bring a strong sun screen!Wear a cap for head and neck protection!Having lived in the Bahamas I found this to be the most comfortable way to enjoy .
Not knowing what ports in the Bahamas you are stopping at - it is hard to recommend shore excursions-At that time of year I would recommend driving (coach) based tours in air conditioned vehicles rather than walking tours.

If you're going to Nassau, take a cab to the Atlantis and check that out. There is a free beach next door. But Atlantis itself is awesome!

This is only my opinion, but I'm not a big Nassau fan. There really isn't that much to do. Penny is right, take a cab (not the water taxi) to Atlantis. EVERYONE deserves to see Atlantis once in their life! The other thing we did once was just get off the boat and take one of the LICENSED tours with the van drivers. They are very informative and interesting. You will see the history, the best parts of town AND the worst. They are pretty reasonably priced, but wheel and deal with em! Other than that, walk around town and see all the banks!! They make no bones about the fact that money laundering is their number one industry. In summary, Nassau is a nice place to visit once...maybe twice. Never more!! Cozumel is another story!!
