I have seen in several posts that Captain Marvin is highly regarded on this site for tours in Grand Cayman.

My question is: does anyone know if you have to book ahead of time or can you get off of the ship and walk to his office and book something?

I have 5 others traveling with me and not sure what they are going to want to do in GC. Getting them to commit to anything ahead of time is difficult. We usually just wait and book everything through the ship once we board.

You SHOULD book ahead (you can find them on the internet) if they fill up you might not be able to get an excursion if you wait until the last minute. But I have also heard of people just going up to them at the tender pier (drop off point) and just purchase tours there too.

It really depends on the time of year you are going and how many ships will be in port the day you are there. If I were you, I'd visit their website and contact them and ask on how short of a notice you would be able to take a tour.

Captain Marvins gets pretty busy and if you are planning to go as a group of 6, I would suggest you plan and reserve ahead. Another thought would be to contact Captain Marvins and ask them what they would suggest. You can email them at info@Captainmarvins.com. Getting off the ship can take time in Grand Cayman so if you go with Captain Marvins I would suggest the 11 am trip. Enjoy your trip.
