Any suggestions on the fastest way to get on the tender? I have been on only two cruises, both of which had one tender port. The first time, we had no idea what we were doing and nearly missed our pre-paid independent excursion due to being ignorant about the whole tender thing.

On our second cruise, we had purchased an excursion through the ship, so we were given priority.

How do you get off of the ship as early as possible in Grand Caymen? I understand this is a tender only port. We will be there during spring break so I assume the port will be busy.

Some ship's require you to get a tender ticket and after the ship's excursions are off they call the tender ticker number /colour etc...
Get to the ticket desk as early as possible to get the first tender.
some people just go line up at the gangway...it may or may not work in getting off early.

Most of the time, tickets are issued. The first ones off the ship will be the early excursions booked through the ship, then they issue tickets normally on a first come, first serve basis. Only one member of your party needs to go to pick up the ticket.

On Conquest last January, they past out the tickets in the show lounge. If you were down front right side - whole party had to be there - you could get an early ticket. We did this and were on the 1st tender after the ship excursions. We got to Captain Marvins before they even opened for the day and were 1st in line when they did open to get our tickets from them.

Do they announce when and where the tickets will be issued? For example, when BJC was in the show lounge and received tickets for the first tender, I assume there was some sort of notification that this would occur.

Even though I've been on two cruises (not many compared to many, I know); it seems that I must have been so happy, I wasn't paying attention to details such as this.

It will be in your newsletter, on the ships tv channel and they will announce it, if you can hear the announcements.
